AboutIt’s been many years since Mr. Genosse was first asked to make a cat. He never took the idea very seriously, and it seems that many people thought he’d never do it. But the Team has been applying increasing pressure over the last few months and, in the end, Mr. Genosse gave in. Finally, we have a VKC Cat! As you might expect, the VKC Cat is based on the dogs and has many of their features, such as tricks, marks and conditionable behavior. But, being a cat, she has some significant differences. For example, there are some new instincts, some missing instincts (fetch and getbone), and some modifications to the familiar commands that you use with the dogs. Instincts
Pathfinding Instincts
For more information about the pathfinding commands, please refer to the Release Notes. Special PosesWhen you pet this cat, you can choose from among three petting animations. Use the setpet command together with stroke, hug or scratch to change the petting animation. The following poses add liveliness and charm to tricks you teach your cat. They must be used with the command pose. For example, to get the cat to arch her back, you would say, "Felix pose arch".
Special CommandsThe name Felix is used here as an example. Of course, you should use your cat's actual name or the general name, cats, to command your cat. bat (this requires the name of an object you want the cat to touch) Say: felix bat mouse touch (this requires the name of an object you want the cat to touch) Say: felix touch ball It is important to mention that touch and bat are designed to allow the cat to touch small objects and intended to be incorporated into your tricks, for example ringing the bell or batting a mouse around the room or yard. It will not work very well if you tell your cat to touch an avatar or a large object like a house or tree and certainly she cannot bat a car or horse. here (tells the kitty to jump into the arms of her owner) Say: felix here This command tells the cat to jump into the arms of its owner. When an owner gives this command to the cat, the avatar bends down just in time to catch the kitty as it leaps into the arms of its owner. The owner can then walk around and even TP while holding the cat. Only the owner may give this command and the owner must grant permission for the command to work. Permission: Before the "here" command will work, the owner of the cat must give permission to allow the cat to animate his avatar. To do this, use the following command: Say: Felix attach A menu will appear seeking permission to animate the avatar. Click "yes" to grant permission. The cat will remember this permission until it is revoked by the owner, so this usually is a one-time command. Once the cat has permission to animate the avatar, the owner only needs to use the command "here" to get the cat in his arms. Stop Carrying Cat: To stop carrying the cat, the owner should right-click on the cat and select drop from the menu. The cat will jump down to the ground. If you prefer, you may right-click on the cat and select detach from the pie menu. In this case, the cat will appear in your inventory. Color OptionsThe VKC Cat was first introduced in with a black coat and fire-gold eyes. For those who prefer cat who looks tamer and more snuggly, the VKC Ginger Cat is also available. Use the collar command to change texture. Alternately, you may click on the collar to cycle through the available textures. There are 40 textures. The collar also can be changed using the c-color commands. Although you can use any of the textures when you use the tint and color commands, you will get the truest colors if you begin with a light color. There is a light grey texture (collar 0) which works well with the c-color command allowing you to create your own color shade for your cat’s collar. Perhaps you'd like to take your kitty with you to tea. Wouldn't it be nice if you had matching outfits? Say, for example, felix collar 0 b-color 255 255 0 (makes the collar bright yellow) To remove or restore the collar, use any of the following commands: felix tint-1 (restores the collar to its original color) felix tint-2 or felix collar hide (makes the collar invisible) ToysYour VKC Cat has a knitted mouse toy that she can carry around and our VKC Registered Accessory Creators have also produced toys for the VKC Cats. The cats can also pick up and carry most of the dogs' toys.
