Second Life is 10!

No one throws a better party than the Second Life community, and the VKC is proud to a part of the celebration of SL's 10th Anniversary!

In keeping with this year's theme, "Looking Forward, Looking Back," the Exhibition Team of the VKC Park Service has put together an interesting exhibit. The history of the VKC is on display along with some hints about future directions.

Beginning on the left as you look into the exhibit from the street, you will see a recreation of how things might have looked if you'd stumbled upon Enrico building a prototype of the first VKC Dog. You see box dog leaping over rocks made from angular prims and flower boxes with pansies made as they were in the early days from crossed prims on top of a textured box.

Moving clockwise, we find the Bloodhound, the first VKC Dog surrounded still by trees and objects made from prims. A little further along the path, and sculpties become part of the scene.

Then we come upon the Bloodhound II, the first VKC Dog with Pathfinding and the surrounding landscaping is made from mesh and sculpties.

At the end of the path is a pedestal with a blanket draped over a shape of an unknown pet. What's under the blanket? You will have to guess until the next VKC Pet is released in the relatively near future.

In the center of the exhibit are photographs of the VKC Pets, sorted by the year of their creation. We can see how far SL and the VKC have come since those early days. Nearby is an information graphic depicting the key events in the development of the VKC.

Drop by the VKC Exhibit and be sure to tour the other fine exhibits that show off our Second Life.
